A viral clip captures the Coolie star stopping his car en route to the site to meet fans, smiling and posing for pictures. Rajinikanth, known for his deep spiritual inclinations, also visited Rishikesh and Badrinath Dham earlier on this trip, where he was spotted enjoying simple roadside meals a gesture that drew praise online for his humility.
The actor is taking a brief break from shooting Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, which is slated for a June release. Shooting will resume once he returns from his pilgrimage, after which he is expected to decide on his next project.
