Priyanka Chopra’s Advice to Ibrahim Ali Khan: Stay Resilient Amid ‘Nadaaniyan’ Backlash

Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, faced a challenging debut with the Netflix romantic comedy Nadaaniyan, released on March 7, 2025. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharmatic Entertainment, the film, co-starring Khushi Kapoor, received harsh criticism from both audiences and reviewers. Ibrahim revealed the encouraging words he received from Priyanka Chopra after she watched the movie.
Chopra sent Ibrahim a heartfelt message, urging him to remain steadfast despite the negative feedback. “She told me to hold my head high, keep working hard, and develop a thick skin,” Ibrahim shared, noting that her support, given her accomplished career, was deeply motivating. He expressed feeling comforted by her belief in his potential for a promising future in the industry.
The backlash against Nadaaniyan extended beyond critiques of the film’s quality, with social media amplifying personal attacks on Ibrahim and Kapoor. Addressing this at a press event during a Punjabi film’s trailer launch, producer Karan Johar condemned the harsh language used in reviews. “I’m open to opinions, but when criticism becomes a reflection of the reviewer rather than the film, it crosses a line,” he stated. Johar emphasized the need for sensitivity, likening harsh words to a form of violence. “Nobody wants to be kicked words can be as violent as physical acts,” he added.
