Los Angeles: The nominations for the 2026 Academy Awards were announced on Thursday morning by actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, setting the stage for Hollywood’s biggest night. Ryan Coogler’s Sinners created history by securing 16 nominations, becoming the first film ever to achieve this milestone.

A vampire drama set in the 1930s American South, Sinners dominated the announcement with nods in major categories, including Best Picture, Best Director for Coogler, and Best Actor for Michael B. Jordan. The film also featured heavily in technical categories.

Following closely was Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which garnered multiple nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Other prominent contenders in the race include Hamnet and Frankenstein.

TV host Conan O’Brien will return to host the ceremony. The Oscars 2026 will take place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Ovation Hollywood, Los Angeles.
