Mumbai: Actress Mouni Roy has arrived at the Cannes Film Festival 2026, offering fans a glimpse of her time on the French Riviera shortly after confirming her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar.
Roy shared a series of photographs from the balcony of her room, showcasing a polished monochromatic ensemble complemented by knee-length boots and a trench coat. In her Instagram caption, she wrote, “Cannes & Chaos ! Bonjour x.” This marks her return to the prestigious event; she had made her Cannes debut in 2023.
The development comes amid intense public interest in the actress’s personal life. On May 19, Roy and Nambiar confirmed their decision to part ways after four years of marriage through a joint statement posted on their respective Instagram accounts.
In the statement, the couple expressed dismay over “unnecessary and intrusive attention” from certain sections of the media into their private lives. They clarified that they have chosen to separate and are handling the matter privately and amicably.

The statement further addressed circulating reports, stating, “Attempts have been made to sensationalize our private lives by circulation of fictitious narratives and blatant falsehoods, which do not reflect the reality of our relationship.” It added that after “thoughtful reflection on evolving personal priorities,” they have “mutually chosen to move forward on separate paths with respect and understanding.”
Emphasising their focus on privacy, the couple noted they are “navigating this phase thoughtfully and privately” and intend to “cherish our friendship in times to come.” They appealed for understanding and respect for their privacy, while requesting media outlets to refrain from spreading false stories.
The joint post concluded with a humble request: “Expecting all of you to give us privacy in these hard times. Humble request to all the media houses to please stop. Love.”
As Roy steps into the spotlight at Cannes, the development underscores her continued professional commitments even as personal matters remain under scrutiny.
