Kim Sae Ron’s Husband Speaks Out; Denies Abuse Allegations

Controversy surrounding South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron’s death keeps getting murkier by the day and in the latest twist in the tale, her ‘secret husband’ has finally spoken up. He also addressed the claims of abuse made by YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, and challenged him to “publicise the photos”, if he had any. Post Sae-ron’s death, Jin Ho, in his shocking video, had claimed that the actress had married a Korean-American man in January this year, but he physically abused and tortured her.

The husband has now finally ended his silence and he issued his first statement via the Garo Sero Research Institute. He confirmed that he met Sae-ron in November 2024 and “fell in love fast”, and the two got legally married in the US in January 2025 in a private ceremony, with only the witnesses present. He then added that they soon realised it was a decision made in haste and due to issues like long-distance challenges and personality differences, they decided to get their marriage “annulled”. “We fell in love fast and made a quick decision, but ultimately, we realised it wasn’t sustainable,” he said.

The husband denied the claims of blackmail, abuse and torture by Jin Ho, and questioned if that were the case then why did Sae-ron keep visiting him. He also mentioned that he lives in a “quiet US apartment complex”, and if there was any sort of physical abuse, then it would not have gone unnoticed. “They said they had photos of the physical abuse, and I urge them to publicise the photos if they have them. If necessary, I will undergo police investigations,” the husband challenged.

The husband also reacted to reports of him monitoring her social media, and stated that it was a mutual agreement signed on paper that both of them will share their passwords and social media access keys with each other to “build trust” in their long-distance relationship.
