Karan Johar Praises Ajay Devgn-Jaideep Ahlawat Pairing in Drishyam 3: ‘Outstanding Performances’

Filmmaker Karan Johar has lavished praise on Ajay Devgn’s latest outing, Drishyam: The Conclusion, calling the film “mazedaar” and “lajawab” while hailing the lead performances as outstanding.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Johar shared the film’s poster featuring Ajay Devgn, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor. He wrote: “What a film. Mazedaar, lajawab. its OUTSTANDING!!! Abhishekpathakk is such a BRILLIANT director! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew.”

The third and final instalment of the popular Hindi Drishyam franchise released on October 2, 2026. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as the resourceful common man Vijay Salgaonkar, locked in a tense cat-and-mouse battle with Jaideep Ahlawat’s determined Crime Branch officer. Tabu returns as Meera Deshmukh, with Shriya Saran back as Nandini Salgaonkar. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film has drawn strong audience and critical appreciation for its gripping narrative and powerhouse performances.
Johar’s endorsement comes amid the film’s impressive commercial start. Drishyam: The Conclusion recorded approximately ₹66.7 crore on its opening day in India, marking the highest opening of Ajay Devgn’s career. Worldwide collections on day one were reported around ₹95 crore, boosted by the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.
Ajay Devgn later reposted Johar’s story, sharing the warm industry reaction with his followers. The praise from one of Bollywood’s most influential voices adds further momentum to a film already riding high on positive word of mouth.
