Kapil Sharma, the popular comedian and actor, recently responded publicly to several shooting incidents targeting his establishment, Kap’s Cafe, in Canada. Speaking at a press conference for his upcoming film, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, Sharma discussed the three separate gunfire events that occurred within a four-month span.
Displaying composure throughout his remarks, Sharma updated attendees about ongoing legal proceedings related to the incidents. He noted, with characteristic humor, that the cafe’s business actually improved following each episode of violence.

Reacting to the attacks at Kap’s Cafe, Sharma explained that all three shootings took place in Vancouver, Canada. He commented, “There have been three firing events there… I feel the police don’t have the necessary authority. But after our case, it reached the federal court and was debated in Canada’s Parliament. Many people have called me, saying such incidents were already happening, but after the news of the shooting at my café broke, the police began to take stronger steps to enforce law and order. I’ve never felt this way in Mumbai or elsewhere in India; the Mumbai Police can’t be matched. After all the gunfire at our café, we saw even bigger crowds coming in. If God is with you, everything works out.”
Sharma also remembered veteran actor Dharmendra, expressing that the actor’s passing felt as if he had lost his own father again. “Everyone feels like a family member is gone after Dharamji’s death. I lost my father at 22, when I was just starting to learn from him. Our time together was short. In Mumbai, when my show was coming together and no one knew what it would be, I met Dharam Paji on a flight to Toronto. We bonded instantly. Later, even amid his busy schedule, he made time for me, telling his team, ‘He’s my son, give him a date.’ I wrote yesterday too it feels like losing my father for the second time.”
For context, Kapil Sharma’s cafe in Canada experienced shootings in July, August, and October of this year.
