Kajol Condemns Paparazzi Intrusion in Bollywood

Bollywood actress Kajol has voiced strong disapproval of the invasive paparazzi culture, describing it as both disrespectful and unsettling. In a recent interview, the acclaimed actress expressed her discomfort with photographers who relentlessly pursue celebrities, even during private moments.
Kajol highlighted specific instances where she finds paparazzi behavior inappropriate. “I feel uneasy around paps,” she told. “There are places they simply shouldn’t be. It’s bizarre to see them chasing actors at funerals, asking for photos. That’s not just odd it’s disrespectful.” She also noted the lack of privacy in everyday activities, stating, “It’s strange that you can’t even go out for lunch without being followed.”
The actress further elaborated on the intrusive nature of being trailed across the city. “They follow you for kilometers, from Juhu to Bandra, just to see where you’re going or which building you’re entering,” she said. Kajol questioned the acceptability of such actions, adding, “If I were an ordinary person, wouldn’t I report this to the police as stalking? What am I supposed to say to the authorities now?”
Kajol is not alone in her sentiments. Other Bollywood stars, including Alia Bhatt and Jaya Bachchan, have previously criticized the paparazzi for overstepping personal boundaries. Recently, actor Rana Daggubati also confronted photographers at an airport after they followed him, resulting in an accidental collision that caused him to drop his phone. He described the paparazzi’s actions as “annoying” and invasive.
On the professional front, Kajol is preparing for her upcoming film Maa, a horror drama directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Devgn Films. The movie, which features Kajol in the lead role alongside Ronit Roy, Indranil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma, centers on a mother’s fierce determination to protect her daughter from supernatural threats in a haunted village. Maa is slated for a theatrical release on June 27.
