Jaya Bachchan Slams Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha: ‘Flop Film, Yeh Koi Naam Hai?’

Bollywood Veteran, MP Jaya Bachchan opened up on the films related to the social issues at an even and she stated that she would not watch films like Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha. She even openly asked people at the event if they would want to watch a film with such a title and declared it “flop”.

The statement given by the veteran actor uttered at an event where she was asked about the films made to promote government and social initiatives with the examples of Akshay Kumar’s Padman and Toilet Ek Prem Katha.

Jaya Bachchan answered” Abhi aap naam bhi dekhiye toh mai aise picturein kabhi na dekhu. Toilet ek Prem katha, yeh koi naam hai ? Yeh koi title hai ? Please bataiye aap logo me se kitne log iss Tarah ki title wali film dekhne jayenge? Only few of the audience raised their hands hence Jaya called it sad and replied,” Picture flop hai.

The film Toilet Ek Prem Katha was released to support the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative. It starred Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar. The statement uttered by the veteran actor has caused ruckus amongst the internet .
