Mumba: Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali’s daughter Ida Ali has taken the next step in her relationship with longtime boyfriend Krish Agrawal, with the couple getting engaged in an intimate ceremony. Imtiaz shared the first glimpse of the special occasion on Instagram, showing Ida and Krish exchanging rings and asking fans and followers to bless the newly engaged couple.
For the ceremony, Ida opted for a baby pink saree, while Krish was dressed in a black sherwani. The picture captured the couple smiling as they exchanged rings, offering a rare peek into what appeared to be a private family celebration. Imtiaz captioned the photograph, “Seeking your blessings, the newly engaged Krish Agrawal and Ida Ali.”
The engagement comes a few months after Krish proposed to Ida during a trip to Norway on July 1, 2026. Ida had announced the proposal on social media, sharing photographs and a video of Krish getting down on one knee. She also gave followers a glimpse of her engagement ring, marking the occasion with the date, time and location of the proposal.
Imtiaz had previously opened up about the proposal in a conversation describing the moment as “the greatest happiness” for him. He also revealed that Krish had spoken to him before asking Ida to marry him.
Who is Krish Agrawal?
Krish, 24, works as a quantitative researcher at a hedge fund. He and Ida have been in a relationship for several years and reportedly share an interest in travelling. Unlike Ida, Krish generally keeps his personal life away from the public spotlight.
Who is Ida Ali?
Ida has been building her own career in filmmaking. She directed her first short film, Lift, at the age of 17 and later worked on projects including Maya and Uljhe Hue. She studied filmmaking at Chapman University’s Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California. In 2026, she also collaborated with Kareema Barry on short films including On a Whim and Gul.
While the engagement has now been confirmed publicly, Ida and Krish have not announced a wedding date or revealed further wedding plans. For now, the couple appears to be enjoying this new chapter away from the usual Bollywood spotlight.
