The much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 is back in production, with Akshay Kumar announcing that the original trio himself, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty has reunited. Kumar clarified that a prior legal dispute with Rawal, which sparked widespread speculation, was genuine and not a promotional tactic. The issue has now been resolved, paving the way for the comedy sequel to move forward, with an official announcement expected soon.
The third installment of the beloved Hera Pheri franchise, which began with the iconic 2000 comedy and continued with Phir Hera Pheri in 2006, has faced numerous challenges. Earlier this year, Rawal’s temporary exit from the project made headlines, escalating into a legal conflict with Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. The dispute centered on Rawal’s departure after filming began, prompting Kumar’s team to seek Rs 25 crore in damages for losses incurred. Rawal returned the signing amount of Rs 11 lakh with interest, and both parties have since reconciled.
Suniel Shetty also confirmed Rawal’s return, expressing excitement in an interview. “Ya ya, he is. I am very excited. Like I said, I will talk on the day of release kyunki nazar lagti hai. Humaari khud ki achi nazar lagjaati hai kabhi kabhi,” he said, hinting at cautious optimism. Directed by Priyadarshan, who helmed the original film, Hera Pheri 3 is expected to wrap production by mid-2026, with a potential release in 2027.
The fans are thrilled at the prospect of seeing the iconic trio back on screen, bringing the nostalgic humor of Raju, Shyam, and Baburao to a new generation. The resolution of the dispute and the reunion of the cast have reignited anticipation for what promises to be a laughter-filled blockbuster.
