Helium Balloon Fire Shocks Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa at Film Wrap Party

A celebratory moment turned chaotic for actors Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa when helium balloons caught fire during the wrap-up party for their upcoming film, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, in Chandigarh on Thursday. The incident, described by Rane as a “freak accident,” caused a brief scare but left no one injured, according to a video and statement shared by the actor on Instagram.

The Sanam Teri Kasam star posted footage showing the cast and crew, including director Milap Zaveri, actor Shaad Randhawa, and casting director Raghav Sharma, gathered to mark the completion of the film’s shoot after five consecutive night shifts. As the team cut a cake surrounded by festive decorations, a cluster of helium balloons ignited just 8–9 feet behind them, creating a sudden burst of flames and smoke. The situation was swiftly brought under control, ensuring everyone’s safety.

In his Instagram caption, Rane expressed gratitude, writing, “You know God is on your film’s side when a mishap doesn’t touch you. Thankfully everyone was safe today early morning when the whole crew shot 5 night shifts in a row and was celebrating the #Wrap of ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’ when a huge bunch of helium balloons burst 8–9 feet behind us!” He also noted the absence of music producer Anshul Garg, calling him the “driving force” behind the project.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, a musical romantic drama directed by Milap Zaveri and co-written with Mushtaq Shiekh, stars Rane and Bajwa in lead roles. The film, which explores themes of love, obsession, and heartbreak, is set for a theatrical release on October 2, 2025, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra. Produced by Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, it promises an emotionally charged narrative, as highlighted by a poster released on May 27 showing intense chemistry between the leads.

Rane, who recently celebrated the re-release of his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam, is also preparing for his next project with director Omung Kumar, set to begin shooting in July. Bajwa, meanwhile, is gearing up for the June 6 release of Housefull 5, a comedy featuring Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh.
