The runaway success of Dhurandhar continues to shape its follow-up, as director Aditya Dhar has opted for targeted reshoots to reintroduce Akshaye Khanna’s memorable character, Rehman Dakait, following intense audience enthusiasm.
The first installment achieved remarkable box-office results, establishing itself as a major commercial hit. However, much of the conversation after its release revolved around Khanna’s portrayal of the enigmatic Rehman Dakait. Viewers responded strongly to the character’s quiet menace, understated intensity, and key moments of dialogue, sparking extensive discussions, fan speculation, and calls for expanded presence across social media.
The character’s appeal extended beyond the film itself. Khanna’s brief yet captivating dance appearance in the song Fa9la by Flipperachi gained massive traction online, with clips spreading rapidly and drawing fresh attention to Rehman Dakait among wider audiences.
According to industry sources, Dhurandhar 2—which had wrapped principal photography—is now undergoing selective additional filming. The reshoots, slated to commence later this month, will be directly overseen by Aditya Dhar and will center on scenes featuring Akshaye Khanna.
