Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, whose chance encounter at Mumbai’s airport on Saturday ignited fan buzz, made their way back from Delhi on the same flight, culminating in a touching goodbye embrace.
Videos and photos circulating on social media captured the actors stepping out of the airport terminal side by side. As they navigated the area, they gestured toward their respective vehicles. Deepika then paused to deliver a brief, affectionate hug to Ranbir before heading to her car. She was dressed in an elegant off-white salwar suit, while Ranbir sported a casual white T-shirt layered under a brown jacket, paired with dark jeans and both donning tinted sunglasses for the trip.
The clip quickly drew a flurry of online responses. One admirer noted, “They still look good together.” Another speculated, “Is it a PR stunt or a coincidence? They left and came back together?” Questions arose about potential shared commitments, with a user asking, “Were they part of the same event?” Others expressed bewilderment: “This looks odd. Suddenly, they are all mushy mushy, together throughout the day. What’s going on?”
The day’s interactions weren’t limited to their return. Earlier that Saturday, the pair had reconnected warmly at the same Mumbai airport, as detailed in a Hindustan Times report. Ranbir, clad in a sleek all-black outfit topped with a cap and shades, spotted Deepika departing in an electric shuttle and signaled her to halt. She obliged, leading to a friendly hug before they continued onward together in the vehicle.
Ranbir’s Delhi visit marked the launch of his ARKS fashion and lifestyle brand at a local mall, where he was met with enthusiastic cheers from supporters. Visibly touched, he thanked the crowd, particularly after they serenaded him with a birthday tune, which he joined in singing. During the event, the actor reflected on his aspirations, stating, “Launching a lifestyle brand was my dream, and I have finally fulfilled it. I also have a dream to direct a film. Maybe someday I’ll direct a film.” He entertained attendees by reciting iconic lines from his hits like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Rockstar, Animal, and Barfi.
Their history adds layers to these moments: The former couple dated for nearly two years following their collaboration in Bachna Ae Haseeno, splitting in 2010. Deepika married Ranveer Singh in 2019; they welcomed daughter Dua that year. Ranbir wed Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and their daughter Raha arrived later that year. Post-breakup, they shared the screen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) and Tamasha (2015).
Looking ahead, Ranbir features in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War with Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, plus Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana opposite Sai Pallavi and Yash. Deepika headlines Atlee’s AA22xA6 with Allu Arjun and stars in King, directed by Siddharth Anand, alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan—production of which is underway.
