Pyarelal is grieving his wife’s passing. The family added, “With deep grief and love in our hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Amma, Sunila Pyarelal Sharma, who left for her heavenly abode on July 12, 2026, surrounded by the warmth of her family (sic).”

In their letter, the family thanked everyone who had helped them through this trying time and recalled Sunila for her grace, kindness, and quiet resilience. “Amma lived a life of grace, devotion, and quiet strength—a pillar of unconditional love to all who knew her,” the note continued. Even though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in the knowledge that she is at last at rest. “We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support of our family and friends during this time. Your work here is beautifully finished, Amma. Rest in eternal peace (sic),” the family concluded, expressing gratitude for the condolences and prayers they had received.

Sunila Sharma’s funeral is set for July 13 at the Dattatray Road Crematorium in Santacruz (West), Mumbai, as confirmed by the family. To pay their final respects, friends, family, and entertainment industry professionals are anticipated to assemble.

One of the most renowned composers of music for Indian movies is still Pyarelal. He established the legendary Laxmikant-Pyarelal combo with the late Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar, whose music shaped Hindi cinema for centuries. Over the course of several decades, the two wrote memorable songs for hundreds of films and produced some of Bollywood’s most enduring soundtracks. Classics like Bobby, Karz, Amar Akbar Anthony, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Hero, Mr. India, Ram Lakhan, Tezaab, Ek Duuje Ke Liye, and Utsav are among their works.
