Badshah Faces Death Threat from Alleged Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Associates

Popular Indian rapper and singer Badshah has received a chilling death threat, allegedly from associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, amid mounting backlash against his recently released track Tateeree.

The threat emerged on Sunday when screenshots of a Facebook post began circulating widely on social media. The post, reportedly shared from an account under the name Randeep Malik Anil Pandit claiming affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, directly targeted Badshah. It accused the artist of attempting to tarnish Haryana’s culture and referenced a prior warning.

The message, written in Hindi, stated: “Singer Badshah, you tried to spoil the culture of Haryana. Earlier in 2024, we showed you a trailer at your club; this time, we will shoot you directly in the forehead.” The post also claimed responsibility for a recent firing incident in Panipat and suggested that an earlier phone call had served as a warning to the singer.

The threat coincides with intense criticism directed at Tateeree, which Badshah released on March 1, 2026, featuring vocals by Simran Jaglan. Detractors have condemned the song’s lyrics and visuals as explicit and inappropriate, particularly alleging that it depicts girls in school uniforms performing objectionable gestures inside a Haryana Roadways bus.

In response to the outcry, Haryana Police registered an FIR against Badshah and initiated steps to issue a lookout notice. The controversy escalated further when the Haryana State Commission for Women sought his arrest after he failed to appear before the panel by the specified deadline on Friday. The commission’s chairperson directed authorities to seize his passport to prevent him from leaving the country and to proceed with his arrest, according to PTI reports.

Badshah addressed the uproar via an Instagram post earlier this month, issuing an apology and stating that he had no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments. He shared a video explaining his position on the matter.

The developments have placed the rapper under significant scrutiny, with the alleged gang threat adding a layer of serious concern to the ongoing cultural and legal dispute surrounding his latest work. Authorities have yet to confirm any formal investigation into the social media threat.
