Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, currently riding high on the success of his latest film Dhurandhar, has officially announced his engagement to longtime partner Gabriella Demetriades during a candid appearance on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast.
The couple, who have been together for six years and share two sons, opened up about their relationship in a teaser for the episode released on Saturday. When Gabriella remarked, “We’re not married now, but who knows?”, Rampal interjected with a smile, “But we are engaged!” He added that they had just broken the news on the show, surprising host Rhea Chakraborty.
Reflecting on their romance, Gabriella shared that she had not initially approached Rampal based on his appearance and hoped he felt the same. Rampal humorously admitted otherwise: “No, no. I went after her because she was hot, then I realised there is a little more to it than just the hotness.”
Gabriella also discussed how becoming parents has deepened her perspective on unconditional love. “Your love comes with conditions, it’s like if a person behaves this way, then get my approval or love. But when you have a child, you can’t do that, right?” she observed.
Rampal and Demetriades met through mutual friends in 2018 and began dating shortly afterward. They welcomed their first son, Arik, in 2019, followed by a second boy in July 2023. Rampal was previously married to Mehr Jesia, with whom he has two daughters, Mahikaa Rampal and Myra Rampal.
On the professional front, Rampal stars as Major Iqbal in the spy thriller Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. The film, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, and Ranveer Singh, has performed strongly at the box office, crossing ₹290 crore in collections.
