Dharmendra Heads Home from Hospital: Bollywood Icon to Recuperate with Family Amid Health Concerns

Mumbai – Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra was released from Breach Candy Hospital on Wednesday morning, with his family opting for home-based care as he continues his recovery.

The 89-year-old screen icon, who has faced multiple hospital visits in recent weeks, left the facility around 7:30 a.m., according to his treating physician. An ambulance transported him to the Juhu residence of his elder son, actor Sunny Deol.

In a statement issued through Sunny Deol’s public relations representative, the family confirmed: “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home.” The message urged media and fans to avoid speculation and respect the family’s privacy, while expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support. “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you,” it read.

Dr. Pratit Samdani, the attending physician at Breach Candy Hospital, corroborated the discharge. “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7:30 a.m. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him home treatment,” he stated. When pressed on the actor’s current condition, Dr. Samdani limited his comments to confirming the hospital release.

Earlier this week, Dharmendra’s wife, actor-turned-politician Hema Malini, revealed on November 10 that he remained under observation and continuous monitoring, calling for prayers for his well-being. His daughter, Esha Deol, publicly called on media outlets to cease spreading unfounded reports about his health.

The veteran star’s team emphasized the need for space during this period, as admirers worldwide send their best wishes.
