Terror Hideout Busted In J&K’s Poonch Days After Pahalgam Attack, 5 IEDs Recovered

Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir dismantled a terrorist hideout in Poonch district, seizing five improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other incriminating materials. The operation, conducted jointly by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, took place in the Surankote forest area on May 4, 2025, days after a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam.
The bust occurred in Hari Marote village, where troops recovered four ready-to-use IEDs, a wireless communication set, clothing, and other items linked to terrorist activities. The operation was part of a broader crackdown on terrorist networks following the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam attack, which heightened security concerns in the region.
A case has been registered under relevant laws, and investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and their affiliations. The recovery of such materials underscores the persistent threat of terrorism in the region and the sustained efforts of security forces to neutralize it.
