Sanjay Dutt Calls for Bollywood Unity Amid Industry Divisions

At the promotional event for the song Baba Aaya Re from his forthcoming film The Bhootnii, veteran actor Sanjay Dutt expressed deep concern over the growing divisions within the Hindi film industry. Speaking candidly, Dutt highlighted the fragmentation he perceives among Bollywood’s various groups, sectors, and informal cliques, urging the industry to rediscover its sense of unity.

Dutt, reflecting on Bollywood’s past, recalled an era when the industry operated like a tight-knit family. “It’s disheartening to see our industry so divided now, something I hadn’t witnessed before,” he told attendees. He emphasized that Bollywood should remain a cohesive family, rooted in mutual support and collective progress, despite the current challenges.

In an impassioned appeal to his colleagues, Dutt called for solidarity to strengthen the industry. “I urge the film industry to come together as a family again and support one another so that Bollywood can thrive,” he said, clarifying that his plea was for the benefit of the entire cinematic community, not personal gain. His words resonated as a timely reminder of the value of collaboration over rivalry.

The Bhootnii, a horror-comedy directed and written by Sidhaant Sachdev, is produced by Deepak Mukut and Sanjay Dutt. The film features a cast including Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Singh, and Mouni Roy and is slated for release on May 1, 2025.
