Ravichandran Ashwin Receives Padma Shri from President Droupadi Murmu; BCCI Congratulates the Veteran Cricketer | Watch

Veteran cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian honour, by President Droupadi Murmu during a special ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday (April 28). The accolade comes just months after Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) applauded Ashwin’s achievement on social media, stating, “Congratulations to @ashwinravi99 on being conferred the prestigious Padma Shri award by the Hon’ble President of India @rashtrapatibhvn, honouring his remarkable achievements and an illustrious career with #TeamIndia.”
Despite stepping away from the international arena, Ashwin continues to showcase his skills domestically and is currently representing the Chennai Super Kings in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
