Surat Installs Gujarat’s First Gold ATM Machine, Enabling Round The Clock Access To Gold And Silver Coins

Surat: Surat has become the first city in Gujarat to install a Gold ATM machine, enabling the purchase of gold and silver coins at any time of the day. Launched by D. Khushalbhai Jewellers in partnership with Goldsikka Limited company, the ATM allows customers to buy coins ranging from 1 gram to 25 grams through digital transactions, including ATM cards, other digital cards, and UPI.

Deepak Chokshi from D. Khushalbhai Jewellers, stated that the project fulfills a vision inspired by his father, aimed at making gold and silver easily accessible. He pointed out that people often wish to purchase gold and silver coins for gifting purposes during various occasions, but face difficulties when shops are closed late at night or early in the morning. According to Chokshi, the Gold ATM will remove such limitations, providing 24-hour access to precious metal coins, and offering convenience to the newer, more digitally inclined generation.

The Gold ATM has been developed with features including real-time gold price updates reflecting international market rates, which will be displayed on the ATM screen. The machine, weighing around 600 kilograms, is equipped with multiple security cameras and built with anti-tampering technology to ensure safe transactions.

Pratapbhai, Chief Governance Officer of Goldsikka, mentioned that their first Gold ATM was installed in Hyderabad. He noted that Surat marks their entry into South Gujarat. He also said that expansion plans are in place to install Gold ATMs at major airports operated by Adani Group across India, as well as at major religious sites including Tirupati Balaji temple and other prominent temples across the country.
