Bomb Threat Emails Spark Security Sweep at Thiruvananthapuram Hotels

Several hotels in Kerala’s capital received bomb threat emails on Saturday, leading to swift police action with bomb disposal teams and canine units dispatched to inspect the targeted locations.

A Cantonment police station official confirmed that thorough searches were underway at all affected hotels. “We haven’t found anything suspicious yet, but the inspections continue,” the officer stated.

Authorities are also investigating the source of the threatening email, which warned of potential IED explosions at multiple hotels, including the prominent Hilton Hotel in central Thiruvananthapuram.

Over the past few months, similar email threats have targeted district collectorates, Revenue Divisional Officers’ offices, and, more recently, the Kerala High Court. Following extensive investigations, police have dismissed all prior threats as hoaxes.
