Actor Saif Ali Khan has launched an official Instagram account under the handle Saif Ali Khan Pataudi. The profile currently has one post and is following Kareena Kapoor Khan’s account.
In his first post, a carousel of pictures, he wrote: “Pataudi Library.. Judging books by their cover…” One of the images shows him reading a book, a long-time favourite pastime.
Two years ago, Saif had spoken about social media in an interview, saying he had the Instagram app and a secret account. He admitted to browsing occasionally but did not enjoy it much, often promising himself he would delete the app yet never following through. He preferred maintaining distance from the social media spotlight, noting that he did not want to create or project a particular image of himself. He also valued the peace that came from not being regularly asked to promote projects because people knew he was not active online.
At the time, when asked whether he might ever open a public account, he replied that one should never say never and that he might join social media. He added that he enjoyed taking pictures and recording moments, and could see himself sharing them.
Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan are parents to sons Taimur and Jeh.
