Actor Priyanka Chopra shared a video by content creator Yashoda Lodhi, popularly known as English With Dehati Madam, on her Instagram Story, giving the self-taught English teacher a major boost in visibility.
Yashoda described the unexpected shoutout as a special moment. In a follow-up video, she said she had little idea that Priyanka would share her content. The same day she also crossed four lakh followers on Instagram.
She recalled visiting a farm the previous day with plans to record a video. While she was trying to shoot, her husband called her. She later completed and posted the clip, only to discover that Priyanka had shared it. Yashoda said the gesture made her day truly special and reminded her that even small efforts can travel further than expected from a village girl working in the fields to content reaching someone she admires.

Yashoda belongs to Lodhan Ka Purwa village in the Sirathu Nagar panchayat of Kaushambi district, Uttar Pradesh. When she was about a year old, her aunt and uncle took her to Ludhiana in Punjab as they did not have a child of their own. She grew up there and completed her education up to Class 12.
She has spoken about teaching herself English by listening to and imitating videos made by others. After roughly 15 days of practice, she started her own channel and began speaking in her own style. She launched her YouTube channel on December 26, 2023. Her content focuses on spoken English, everyday conversations and commonly used phrases presented through practical, real-life situations rather than a formal academic approach. The channel was monetised within a month of its launch.
Priyanka’s recognition of the video has highlighted Yashoda’s journey of self-learning and online content creation.
