Residents of Kalyan-Dombivli will experience a 12-hour interruption in water supply on Tuesday, September 29, as the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation carries out scheduled maintenance at its treatment facilities.
The civic body has announced that water supply from the Barave, Mohili, Netivali and Titwala water treatment plants will remain suspended from 8 am to 8 pm. The work involves electrical and mechanical repairs and upkeep at the four plants.
The shutdown will affect a wide area. Supply will be unavailable in Kalyan East and West, Dombivli East and West, as well as Manda-Titwala, Vadavali, Ambivli, Shahad, Atali and other villages in the Kalyan rural belt.
Civic officials have advised residents to store sufficient water in advance and use available stocks carefully during the disruption. Those dependent solely on the municipal network have been particularly urged to plan their daily requirements ahead of time.
Executive Engineer (Water Supply) Shailesh Malekar has requested public cooperation while the maintenance is underway. Authorities have also cautioned that supply may take some time to return to normal once the work is completed, and have asked citizens to avoid unnecessary consumption.
The corporation stated that the repairs are necessary to ensure the continued proper functioning of the water supply infrastructure.
