Exam Scandals at Saurashtra University; Answer Sheet Photos Shared on WhatsApp During Ongoing Exam

Amreli: When discussing examination malpractices or scams, Bihar is typically mentioned first, but Gujarat is no longer lagging behind in this regard. Along with government recruitment exam scandals, irregularities are now occurring in university examinations as well. A scandal in Saurashtra University examinations has come to light. According to available information, during the B.Com Semester 4 examination, photos of question answers were circulated in a WhatsApp group from Amreli’s M.D. Sitapara College while the exam was still in progress.
Do students bring phones into ongoing examinations?
In more detail, students were given their exam papers at 10:30 AM. Within just 15 minutes, around 10:45 AM, photos of answers were circulated in a “College Friend” WhatsApp group. How did these photos go viral during an ongoing examination? Are students sitting in exams with their phones? Evidently, students took photos of answers written in their answer sheets and shared them in the WhatsApp group named “College Friend.” As soon as this matter came to light, action was taken and the examination center was immediately closed. Students who took the exam at this center will have to retake it. The examination will now be conducted at Amreli’s S.D. Kotak Law College.

Shockingly, this is not the first incident. Answers to three previous papers had also been circulated. In detail, on April 17th, Business Account paper answers, on April 19th, Personal Tax Planning paper answers, and on April 21st, Banking and Finance paper answers were circulated as screenshots. No action has yet been taken regarding these cases. Why is the university turning a blind eye to this issue? Such scandals have come to light multiple times.





College examination center closed with immediate effect for now: Registrar
Regarding this matter, Saurashtra University Registrar Dr. Ramesh Parmar stated that he received complaints about examination irregularities from student organizations. Consequently, prompt action was taken by the examination department. This college’s examination center has been closed with immediate effect for now. Additionally, Dr. Ramesh Parmar mentioned that students who were taking exams at M.D. Sitapara College’s examination center will now take their exams at Amreli’s S.D. Kotak Law College.
