Suriya And Jyotika Get Married Again After 20 Years And This Time, Their Kids Were Part Of It

Mumbai: The much loved Tamil film couple recently renewed their wedding vows in a beautiful ceremony attended by their children, family and close friends. Jyotika shared pictures and videos from the celebration on social media, giving fans a rare glimpse into a personal moment for the family.

Calling the celebration “The Sequel,” Jyotika made it clear that this wasn’t about recreating their first wedding. For her, it was about celebrating everything the couple has been through together over the last two decades.

The ceremony had all the familiar touches of a wedding. Jyotika looked stunning in a white bridal gown, while Suriya opted for a white suit. Their daughter Diya and son Dev were also part of the ceremony, making the occasion even more special for the couple.

One of the sweetest moments showed Jyotika walking down the aisle with their son, while their daughter was seen alongside Suriya.

‘20 years of love and war’

Jyotika’s post wasn’t just about pretty wedding pictures. She spoke honestly about what two decades of marriage have meant to her.

She referred to their journey as one filled with love and war, acknowledging that a long marriage comes with its share of arguments, compromises and sacrifices.

Her message touched on friendship, understanding and the little things that help a relationship survive the difficult days. Instead of portraying their marriage as perfect, she celebrated the fact that they have continued to choose each other through the ups and downs.

For the couple, the anniversary was also a chance to look at the family they have built together.

Jyotika and Suriya are parents to Diya and Dev, and having both children involved in the vow renewal ceremony made the celebration feel much more like a family affair than a celebrity event.

From on screen pair to real life couple

Suriya and Jyotika’s relationship began on film sets long before they became husband and wife.

The two first worked together in Poovellam Kettuppar in 1999. Their on screen pairing went on to feature in several Tamil films, including Uyirile Kalanthathu, Kaakha Kaakha, Perazhagan, Maayavi and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal.

Their chemistry on screen was noticed by audiences, but their relationship eventually moved beyond the movies.

Suriya and Jyotika got married in Chennai on September 11, 2006. Their daughter Diya was born in 2007, followed by their son Dev in 2010.

Over the years, both actors have continued to work in films, although they have largely kept their family life away from the constant spotlight.

Jyotika took a break from acting after marriage and motherhood before returning to films with 36 Vayadhinile in 2015. She has since appeared in several Tamil and other Indian language projects.

Suriya, meanwhile, has remained one of Tamil cinema’s leading actors and has also expanded his work as a producer.

A second wedding, two decades later

The vow-renewal ceremony gave fans something they don’t often get from the couple a close look at their life away from the film sets.

There were wedding outfits, family photographs, emotional moments and, most importantly, a chance for Suriya and Jyotika to celebrate the life they have built together.

Twenty years after their first wedding, they have now had their “sequel”.

And judging by Jyotika’s message, this second chapter isn’t about pretending the first 20 years were perfect. It’s about celebrating the fact that they made it through the good days and the difficult ones together.
