India and Pakistan Could Meet Again in Women’s Asia Cup Final

Dubai: Even after Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat at the hands of Harmanpreet Kaur’s Indian team last week, the arch-rivals could be destined for another showdown in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

India had already secured a place in the semi-finals, while Pakistan entered the last four after defeating Hong Kong on Monday. The two teams will face different opponents in the semi-finals, but if both India and Pakistan win their respective matches, they could meet again in the final in Dubai on Sunday, September 13, from 8:00 pm.

Pakistan will face Sri Lanka in the semi-final, while India’s semi-final opponent will be decided by the result of Tuesday’s match between Bangladesh and the UAE.

Pakistan Beat Hong Kong by 72 Runs

After opting to bat against Hong Kong on Monday, Pakistan managed only 143 for eight in 20 overs, with opener Shawaal Zulfiqar contributing 47 runs.

However, Pakistan’s bowlers came out firing from the very first over and put Hong Kong’s batters under relentless pressure. Hong Kong fought until the end of the 19th over, but were eventually bowled out for 71, handing Pakistan a 72-run victory.

Pakistan Spinner Nashra Sandhu Takes Six Wickets for Seven Runs

Pakistan left-arm spinner Nashra Sandhu produced a sensational spell, taking six wickets for just seven runs against Hong Kong. She was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance.

Interestingly, Sandhu had gone wicketless against India last week, conceding 19 runs in 1.4 overs.
