BJP MLA Accused Of Corruption In Controversial Letter By Party Member; Police Action Sought

Rajkot: In a development that shows internal discord within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an anonymous letter has been circulated among several party members accusing Mahendra Padalia, the MLA of Dhoraji-Upleta, of serious allegations including corruption and adultery. The letter was reportedly sent by a party worker and has caused a stir within the party’s Gujarat unit. Upon receiving a copy of the letter himself, the MLA approached the District Police Chief, requesting immediate action against the individual responsible for distributing the letter.

Mahendra Padalia has previously made headlines, and this is not the first time he has been the target of accusations. The letter, which has gone viral, has also been shared with BJP leaders in both Gujarat and Delhi. It accuses the MLA of taking bribes from small contractors and accepting kickbacks from officials, including engineers from PGVCL and revenue officers. It also alleges irregularities in municipal administration and makes personal allegations of adultery.

The anonymous writer identified themselves only as “a BJP and Sangh worker”. The MLA, in his response, dismissed the accusations as baseless and suggested that someone within the party, motivated by jealousy or personal enmity, may be behind the letter. A copy of the letter has been handed over to the Superintendent of Police (SP), and efforts are underway to trace the sender.
