‘Ghajini’ And ‘Lagaan’ Actor Pradeep Rawat Passes Away At 74 After Cancer Battle

Actor Pradeep Rawat, well known for his parts in the films Lagaan and Ghajini, starring Aamir Khan, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, following a fight with cancer. He was seventy-four.

Rawat was first admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, but about ten days ago, he was transferred to a specialized cancer hospital in Bhiwandi for additional care, according to sources.

“Pradeep Rawat, Ghajini our Deva of Lagaan RIP,” said Yashpal Sharma, the actor’s “Lagaan” co-star, on social media after learning of his friend’s passing.

After becoming well-known for playing Ashwatthama in Mahabharat, Rawat moved on to work in a variety of businesses.

The TV series Tehkikaat, Chandrakanta, and Yug and the films Meri Jung, Sarfarosh, The Hero:Story of a Spy, and Chhava are among his other notable roles.
