Supriya Sule Safe After Car Hits Her Vehicle At Expressway

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working president and Baramati MP Supriya Sule remained safe following a collision involving her vehicle on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Saturday.

Sule was travelling from Pune to Mumbai when another car rammed into her vehicle from the side. The incident was caused by reckless driving, she said. The Baramati MP promptly shared details of the experience on social media platform X, identifying the offending vehicle as GJ13CF5257.

“While travelling from Pune to Mumbai today I had an awful experience on the highway when vehicle GJ13CF5257 rammed into my car from the side due to reckless driving,” Sule wrote. “Thankfully, everyone is safe,” she added.

In her post, Sule highlighted how such episodes serve as a serious warning about the dangers of overspeeding and negligent driving on highways. She urged motorists to prioritise safety by wearing seat belts, staying alert, and adopting responsible driving habits to protect all road users.

The collision occurred on one of India’s busiest expressways, which connects the two major Maharashtra cities and sees heavy traffic daily. No injuries were reported among Sule or her fellow passengers, underscoring the fortunate outcome despite the impact.

Sule’s swift public communication about the event drew attention to broader road safety concerns. Highway accidents caused by speeding and careless overtaking remain a persistent challenge across the country, often resulting in serious consequences when drivers fail to maintain caution.

This latest incident serves as a timely reminder for commuters and authorities alike to reinforce traffic discipline on high-speed corridors. While details regarding any action taken against the driver of the Gujarat-registered vehicle were not immediately available, Sule’s emphasis on preventive measures resonated with many who frequently use the expressway.
