Mumbai Train Alert: Major Night Block on Western Line Between Vasai Road & Vaitarna on April 18–19
Train services will be disrupted overnight as Western Railway conducts essential maintenance; early-morning delays expected.

Mumbai: The Western Railway has scheduled a significant overnight maintenance block between Vasai Road and Vaitarna stations from the night of Friday, April 18, to the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025. As per an official update posted on @drmbct (Western Railway’s official handle on X, formerly Twitter), the block will impact train movement in both directions during this period.
Block Timings and Details:
- Date: Friday, April 18 – Saturday, April 19, 2025
- Time: 11:50 PM to 4:30 AM
- Route: Vasai Road ↔ Vaitarna
- Lines Affected: UP & DOWN lines
Due to the block, several suburban trains are scheduled to be cancelled, and passengers can expect delays in late-night and early-morning services. Commuters are urged to verify the schedule of cancelled trains with the Station Master’s office and plan their journey accordingly.

The railway authorities have expressed regret over the inconvenience, stating that the block is essential to carry out necessary safety upgrades and maintenance to ensure the reliability of the suburban network.
Separate 3-Day Block on Central Line for ROB Work:
In a separate development, Central Railway has announced a three-day traffic and power block between Lonavala and Malavali from April 18 to April 20, 2025. According to railway officials, the block is being undertaken for the installation of four steel girders as part of the new Road Over Bridge (ROB) project in the area.
Train services on this section will be affected throughout the duration of the block. Passengers are advised to make alternative travel arrangements to avoid delays or disruptions.
