Lindsey Graham Dies Suddenly; MAGA Influencers Fuel Russia-Iran Conspiracy Claims

New York : The sudden death of US Senator Lindsey Graham, one of President Donald Trump’s closest allies, has sent shockwaves through Republican circles, with several prominent MAGA figures publicly questioning the circumstances surrounding his death. In India, Graham was widely known for repeatedly warning New Delhi over its imports of Russian oil.
News of Graham’s death quickly sparked a flood of speculation on social media. Several MAGA commentators pointed to the timing of his passing, noting that it came just hours after he returned from Ukraine, where he had once again called for tougher sanctions on Russian oil and gas exports. According to his office, Graham, 71, died on July 11 after a “brief and sudden illness.” Emergency responders were reportedly called to his Washington, DC, home following a cardiac arrest on Saturday evening.
“Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known, is dead!” Trump wrote. “He was always working, and was a true American Patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed!!! DETAILS AND ARRANGEMENTS TO FOLLOW. So sad!” As condolences continued to pour in, unverified claims linking Graham’s death to Russia or Iran spread rapidly online. The rumours gained further traction after Iranian state-linked media celebrated Graham’s death, while FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau was assisting local authorities and had made all necessary resources available.
On X, she wrote that Graham had visited Ukraine and pledged stronger US support only a day before his death, adding that the circumstances warranted an investigation. MAGA podcaster Clint Russell also questioned the timing, noting that Graham had visited a Ukrainian drone manufacturing facility shortly before Russia reportedly struck the site. He speculated, without offering evidence, that Russia may have been involved. Authorities, however, have provided no indication of foul play, and none of the claims circulating online have been backed by evidence.
