Linda Noskova Dedicates Historic Wimbledon Title to Her Late Mother

London: Czech tennis star Linda Noskova dedicated her maiden Wimbledon singles title to her late mother after lifting the trophy on Saturday. Overcome with emotion, the 21-year-old looked towards the sky with tears in her eyes, kissed her right hand and blew a flying kiss in memory of her mother. The Centre Court crowd responded with a standing ovation.

Noskova defeated her fellow Czech player and close friend Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the final to claim the prestigious title. It was the first time in Wimbledon history that two players from the Czech Republic had faced each other in the women’s singles final.

Noskova’s mother, Ivana, passed away after battling cancer in 2024. Her father was present in the stands on Saturday and witnessed his daughter’s unforgettable triumph at the All England Club.
