Mumbai Man Detained for Bomb Threat Hoax

A 37-year-old man, Suraj Jadhav, was detained by Mumbai Police on Tuesday after allegedly making a hoax bomb threat call, authorities reported. The call, received by the police control room in the afternoon, claimed that bomb blasts would occur across the city.

According to a senior police official, Jadhav, a Borivali resident, was intoxicated when he made the threatening call. Following an investigation, police traced the call to the Borivali area and apprehended him.

Further inquiries revealed that Jadhav has a history of similar offenses, with three prior cases registered against him at Borivali, Vakola, and BKC police stations for criminal intimidation involving serious threats.

The Azad Maidan police station in south Mumbai filed a case against Jadhav under applicable legal provisions in response to the latest incident. The investigation remains ongoing, the official added.
