Pregnant Woman in Palghar Thwarts Thief with Bold Move

In a striking display of courage, a pregnant woman in Maharashtra’s Palghar district physically confronted a thief attempting to rob her home, police reported on Monday. The incident, which unfolded in the Vasai area.

On April 10, the 26-year-old woman was alone at her residence when she noticed a suspicious individual trying to break in. Acting swiftly, she grabbed the intruder, identified as 22-year-old Arbaz Khan, and pinned him to the ground. Despite her pregnancy, she managed to overpower Khan, who was allegedly attempting to steal valuables, including a mobile phone, from her home.

The woman’s husband, alerted by the commotion, rushed to assist, and together they detained Khan until the police arrived. The Valiv police station registered a case against the suspect under section 351(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for attempted theft. Khan, a resident of Naigaon, was arrested, and authorities recovered the mobile phone he had tried to steal.

This incident highlights the woman’s remarkable bravery, as she protected her home under challenging circumstances, earning praise from local law enforcement for her quick thinking and resolve.
