NEET-UG 2026: NTA Debunks Viral Paper Leak Video, Confirms Successful Conduct Of Nationwide Re-Exam

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially dismissed a viral video circulating on social media that claimed the question paper for the NEET-UG 2026 had been leaked. Issuing a formal statement on the social media platform X, the country’s premier testing authority categorized the video as entirely fabricated and characterized its claims as fraudulent. According to reports by The Hindu, the NTA emphasized that the critical medical entrance test was executed smoothly under rigorous security protocols and extensive surveillance.

Legal Countermeasures Mobilized Against Misinformation

Labeling the creation and intentional sharing of such misleading footage as a serious punishable offense aimed at causing alarm among students, the NTA announced it is pursuing legal recourse. The testing authority is collaborating closely with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) along with relevant law enforcement departments to identify and penalize the individuals responsible for generating the deceptive content. Furthermore, the agency appealed to parents, candidates, and the general public to verify information exclusively through official NTA channels and websites rather than amplifying unverified rumors, asserting that the millions of medical aspirants deserve a transparent and stress-free testing atmosphere.

Massive Logistics Power Successful Nationwide Re-Test

The massive re-examination cycle was conducted on Sunday across 5,440 domestic centers and 14 overseas locations, catering to more than 20 lakh medical aspirants. The test was administered in 13 distinct languages, including English and Hindi. Highlighting the scale of the operation, NTA Director General Abhishek Singh stated that a “whole-of-government” strategy was utilized to pull off the enormous logistical undertaking in a record timeline of 37 days. The Hindu noted that approximately 7 lakh officials—comprising security personnel, external observers, and institutional staff—were deployed nationwide, with key academic experts donating personal time to curate distinct sets of question papers to preserve exam integrity.

Strict Surveillance Foils Minor Malpractice Attempts

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the NTA headquarters located in Delhi’s Okhla region to personally evaluate the administrative arrangements. The Ministry of Education later confirmed that the NTA kept the Minister fully updated on the comprehensive digital and physical frameworks implemented to safeguard transparency.

While Director General Abhishek Singh acknowledged minor instances of irregularities such as candidates presenting forged or incorrect admit cards, isolated cases of impersonation, and localized attempts to smuggle mobile devices inside—the agency confirmed that multi-layered security measures, including metal detectors, mandatory frisking, and active CCTV tracking, successfully intercepted and halted any unfair practices.
