
Ahmedabad : Liquor is banned in Gujarat, bootleggers smuggling liquor in trains seem to be proving the claims of liquor ban false. Bootleggers are involved in smuggling of liquor in trains coming from Mumbai. Bootleggers are trying to prove that they have no fear of Gujarat Police, Railway Police and the system. A shocking incident has come to light in Humsafar Express 2190 originating from Mumbai. Wherein a person bootlegging liquor was caught. When such incident happended in train Mumbai Samachar’s represensative was also traveling. He spoke to Ticket Checker regarding Railway Police. TC said that not a single railway police personnel is present on duty in the 22 wagons train.
Passengers found that a passenger had entered the bathroom with a bag of liquor and sat there for an hour. This incident became more serious when it was learned that in this entire train of 22 coaches, not a single railway police personnel was not present on duty. When this person was interrogated in the presence of passengers and railway employees, he confessed that he has come out from Vapi with liquor and this is his daily work. Big questions are now being raised on how strict is the implementation of the liquor ban law in Gujarat.
These couriers confessed that these goods come through Daman and they are doing this work for the notorious bootlegger Shiva of Vapi. Not only this, he does this work without any fear. As if there was no fear of the police, he replied that he would be jailed, what else? The statement of the smuggler is shocking. He told that I will be realsed in four-five days.
This one sentence proves that bootleggers have no fear of the law. More seriously, the liquor being smuggled is said to be fake. Passengers believe that this fake liquor is a direct play with people’s health. When there is lack of security in public transport system like railways and in the absence of police, this if such black businesses flourish, then who is responsible? The train coming from Mumbai has become a hub for smugglers and anti-social elements involved in smuggling of liquor. It seems like this raises big questions on the security of the railway system.
