Patan and Rajkot Collector Offices Receive Bomb Threat, Bomb Squad Conducts Search

Patan: Collector’s Offices of Patan and Rajkot districts have received a bomb threat today. Such a threat was received by mail around 1.45 PM. In the mail, it was mentioned that around 3 PM office will be blasted. Following the threat, immediate action was taken. Rajkot’s Collector’s office also received bomb threats. The police have informed the district collector. Having information, Rajkot City Crime branch, SOG, Dog squad, Bomb squad and local police rushed to the collector’s office.    

The authorities breathed a sigh of relief as no accidents occurred till 3 pm. However, following the threat, the bomb squad is still investigating the Collector’s office. Police have been deployed at the Collector’s office. The district collector instructed all the employees to vacate the office. There was an atmosphere of fear among the employees and they immediately left the office. Along with this, security around the collector’s office has been tightened.

The incident was reported to the Patan District Superintendent of Police, after which police teams including LCB (Local Crime Branch), SOG (Special Operation Group), and B Division immediately reached the spot. An intensive investigation has been started in the office and surrounding areas. Every corner of the office is being investigated with the help of a bomb disposal squad and dog squad.
