Major IAS, Police Transfers Across Gujarat; Key Officers Shifted

The Gujarat state government has issued fresh transfer and promotion orders for several IAS officers and police personnel, signaling a significant administrative reshuffle.
In the latest changes, Arpit Sagar, previously serving as Deputy Municipal Commissioner in Vadodara, has been appointed as the new District Collector of Mahisagar. Shalini Duhan, who was Joint Secretary in the Urban Development Department, has been transferred as Collector of Dang. Meanwhile, Dinesh Ramesh Gurav, who held the post of Director of Higher Education, has taken charge as Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Surat.
Commissioner Moved Amid Dispute
Vadodara Municipal Commissioner Dilip Rana has been transferred to serve as Higher Education Commissioner in Gandhinagar. The transfer follows reports of a recent disagreement between Rana and Mayor Pinky Soni. The Commissioner was reportedly criticized for not engaging the Mayor in discussions on local development projects during a key meeting.
49 PSIs temporarily promoted to PI
- One after another decisions of promotions and transfers are being taken in the police department in the state.
- On Wednesday, 49 unarmed Police Sub Inspectors of class-3 serving in various districts of the state have been temporarily promoted to the post of class-2 unarmed Police Inspector.
- Earlier on Monday, 33 PSIs were temporarily promoted to the post of PI.
- On Tuesday, transfer orders were issued for 182 unarmed Police Sub Inspectors posted in various state districts.
