Surat: A fire broke out on the eighth floor of Happy Enclave Flats in Vesu area of Surat. Three floors of the building were engulfed in flames. Having information about the incident, Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi along with the fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot.
It is to be noted that Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi also lives in the opposite building in the same compound. However, there is no information yet about whether anyone is trapped inside the building or not. When this copy is being written, no casualties have been reported so far. The fire brigade team has not yet been able to douse the fire as the upper three floors were engulfed in flames. The fire that broke out on the eighth floor spread upto the tenth floor. 15 people have been rescued and all have been shifted to a safe place.
About 10 fire engines from 5 fire stations have reached the spot to control the fire and water is being continuously sprinkled. It has been about two hours since the fire broke out, and the fire is being gradually brought under control.
