Mumbai Local Train Services Affected On Central Railway After OHE Fault Between Sion And Matunga

Mumbai: Mumbai’s Central Railway network experienced disruption on Saturday after an overhead equipment (OHE) trip occurred between Sion and Matunga stations. The technical issue affected suburban train operations and resulted in delays across several services during the morning rush.

Trains Running Behind Schedule

According to railway officials, local train services on the Central line were delayed by nearly 20 minutes due to the fault in the overhead power system. The disruption affected the movement of multiple trains, causing inconvenience to thousands of daily commuters travelling towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and other destinations.

Railway authorities initiated restoration work soon after the issue was reported. Technical teams were deployed to resolve the fault and restore normal operations at the earliest.

Commuters Face Travel Difficulties

The delay led to overcrowding at several stations as passengers waited for services to resume on schedule. With trains running behind time, platforms witnessed increased commuter congestion during one of the busiest travel periods of the day.
