Naga Chaitanya Takes Legal Action Against Viral Claims Linking Him to Samantha Split

New Delhi: Actor Naga Chaitanya has moved the Delhi High Court against a series of social media posts, videos and online content that allegedly claim he cheated on his former wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The actor has sought legal intervention, arguing that the allegations are baseless and have unfairly damaged his reputation over the years.

According to reports, Chaitanya’s petition goes beyond the cheating claims. He has also raised concerns over the unauthorized use of his name, image and likeness across digital platforms. The actor is seeking protection against the misuse of his photographs, videos, AI generated content and deepfakes that allegedly exploit his identity without consent.

During the hearing, Chaitanya’s legal team told the court that several online posts have portrayed him as the sole reason behind the breakdown of his marriage with Samantha. Some content allegedly suggested that he not only cheated on the actress but also negatively impacted her personal and professional life. His lawyers argued that such narratives are based on speculation rather than verified facts and amount to online harassment rather than legitimate criticism.

The Delhi High Court has taken note of the plea and issued notices in the matter. The case comes at a time when concerns over misinformation, deepfakes and the misuse of artificial intelligence are growing across the entertainment industry. Celebrities increasingly face challenges in controlling false narratives that spread rapidly on social media, often reaching millions of users before they can be addressed.

Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, once one of South Indian cinema’s most celebrated couples, got married in 2017 after years of dating. In October 2021, they announced their separation through a joint statement, requesting privacy and understanding from fans and the media. While their divorce sparked widespread speculation, neither actor publicly disclosed the exact reasons behind the split.

Since then, both Chaitanya and Samantha have focused on their respective careers and largely refrained from commenting on rumours surrounding their personal lives. However, the persistence of online allegations appears to have prompted Chaitanya to seek legal recourse.

The actor’s latest move highlights the growing battle between public figures and digital misinformation. As the case proceeds, it is important to note that the allegations circulating online remain unproven, and no court has made any finding supporting claims that Chaitanya cheated on Samantha. The legal proceedings are expected to address whether the content in question crosses the line from public discussion into defamation and misuse of personality rights.

The case is likely to be closely watched, not only because of the actors involved but also because it raises important questions about celebrity privacy, online accountability and the legal limits of AI generated and defamatory content in the digital age.
