Mumbai Mega Block: Central Railway Announces 5-Hour Disruption On Local Trains, Check Details Here-

Mumbai: Mumbai commuters are likely to face travel disruptions on Sunday, May 24, as Central Railway has scheduled a five-hour mega block on suburban sections of the Main and Harbour railway lines for maintenance and infrastructure-related work.
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, the block will be implemented to carry out essential engineering and safety operations across multiple railway corridors. Railway authorities have advised passengers to check revised schedules before planning their journeys.

On the Main Line, the Up and Down slow tracks between Matunga and Mulund stations will remain closed from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm. During this period, several slow local services departing from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will be diverted to the fast corridor between Matunga and Mulund. These trains will continue to halt at stations including Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, and Mulund before switching back to the slow line. Railway officials stated that passengers may experience delays of around 15 minutes.

The Harbour Line will also witness cancellations and route changes during the block hours. Some local trains operating on the Harbour corridor may skip select stations, while others could remain suspended temporarily to facilitate maintenance work.

In addition to Central Railway’s mega block, Western Railway will conduct a jumbo night block between Vasai Road and Virar for signalling and track maintenance work. Authorities have requested commuters to remain updated through official railway announcements and revised timetables to avoid inconvenience.
