PM Modi Hands Over 51,000 Appointment Letters At 19th Rozgar Mela, Boosting Youth Employment

Mumbai : In a significant step towards boosting employment opportunities for the country’s youth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters during the 19th Rozgar Mela held on Saturday. The event, conducted through video conferencing, connected newly recruited candidates from different parts of the country who are set to join various government departments and ministries.

The recruits have been selected for positions in departments such as Railways, Home Affairs, Health, Financial Services, and Higher Education. The Rozgar Mela was organised simultaneously at several locations nationwide, continuing the government’s large scale recruitment campaign aimed at filling vacancies faster and creating more opportunities for young job seekers.

Addressing the newly appointed candidates, PM Modi congratulated them and described their selection as not just personal success, but also an opportunity to contribute to the country’s development. He said the youth are playing a major role in shaping India’s future and stressed the importance of dedication, honesty, and public service.

The Rozgar Mela initiative, launched in 2022, has become one of the Centre’s major employment drives. Since its beginning, lakhs of appointment letters have been distributed across multiple editions of the programme. According to government data, more than 10 lakh recruitment letters have been issued so far under the initiative.

The government has also linked the programme with skill development and training. Newly appointed employees are encouraged to use digital learning platforms like iGOT Karmayogi to improve their professional and administrative skills.

With the 19th edition of the Rozgar Mela, the Centre has once again highlighted its focus on employment generation and youth empowerment, while aiming to strengthen public services with fresh recruitment across sectors.
