Chennai: Senior DMK leader Anitha Radhakrishnan on Sunday strongly criticised Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and his TVK-led administration, claiming that the government would not remain in power for long and asserting that DMK president MK Stalin would eventually return as Chief Minister.
Speaking at a party event in southern Tamil Nadu, the Tiruchendur MLA predicted that the current government would collapse within a few months. He also challenged TVK leader Aadhav Arjuna to resign from his Assembly seat and contest against him in Tiruchendur.
Radhakrishnan stated that Tiruchendur remained a stronghold for the DMK and claimed that his party was capable of defeating any political opponent there. His remarks added to the ongoing political confrontation between the DMK and the newly formed TVK government headed by Vijay.
The comments come at a time when the Vijay-led administration has been facing criticism from DMK leaders over its stability. Recently, DMK chief MK Stalin had also questioned the durability of the TVK government and warned party workers to remain prepared for possible political developments in the state.
The political atmosphere in Tamil Nadu has remained tense ever since Vijay assumed office as Chief Minister after the 2026 Assembly elections. The TVK government secured the trust vote in the Assembly with support from several parties and MLAs, despite opposition criticism and allegations regarding political manoeuvring.
