Western Railway Midnight Block At Dadar To Disrupt Mumbai Local Train Services

Mumbai: Mumbai commuters are expected to face travel disruptions as Western Railway has scheduled a midnight maintenance block at Dadar station between May 15 and May 16. According to a report published by the Free Press Journal, the block will affect several suburban train services, leading to cancellations, short-terminations, and route diversions during the late-night and early-morning hours.

The maintenance work will take place on the slow up and down suburban lines between midnight and 5 am on the intervening night of May 15 and 16. Railway officials stated that the engineering block is necessary to carry out infrastructure maintenance work aimed at improving passenger safety and operational efficiency.

During the block period, slow local trains operating between Mumbai Central and Mahim will be diverted to fast lines. As a result, these trains will skip halts at stations including Mahalaxmi railway station, Lower Parel railway station, Prabhadevi railway station and Matunga Road railway station.

Western Railway has also cancelled several late-night and early-morning suburban services. Among the affected trains are Churchgate-Bhayandar, Churchgate-Goregaon, Churchgate-Andheri and Churchgate-Borivali local services scheduled for the night of May 15.
