UAE Secretly Attacked Iran During West Asia War: WSJ Report Claims

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) allegedly carried out secret military strikes against Iran during the recent conflict in West Asia, according to a report published by Firstpost citing findings from The Wall Street Journal (WSJ). The report has added a new dimension to the already tense geopolitical situation in the region.

As per the WSJ report, the UAE reportedly targeted Iranian assets, including a refinery located on Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf, during the period of heightened hostilities between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The attacks were said to have taken place before a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire agreement came into effect.

Reuters also reported that the UAE had allegedly conducted covert strikes on Iran, though the agency stated it could not independently verify the claims mentioned in the WSJ report.

The alleged operations mark a significant development, as the UAE has generally maintained a cautious public stance regarding direct military confrontation with Iran. However, reports indicate that tensions between the two countries have intensified in recent months amid wider instability in West Asia.

The WSJ report further claimed that Iran responded aggressively to attacks and pressure from regional rivals, targeting several Gulf nations with missiles and drones during the conflict. Reports also suggested that vital energy infrastructure and maritime routes in the Gulf region came under increasing threat.

Despite the growing speculation, the UAE government has not officially confirmed or denied involvement in any military action against Iran. The developments have sparked concerns over a broader regional escalation and the impact such tensions could have on global oil markets and security in the Gulf.

Further official statements from the countries involved are still awaited.
