18 Weapons Seized, Cross-Border Terror Network Targeting Delhi Busted; Pakistan-Bangladesh-Nepal Links Under Probe
Indian security agencies have foiled a major terror plot targeting New Delhi, recovering 18 sophisticated firearms and detaining nine alleged operatives linked to a cross-border syndicate spanning Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal, according to reports.
The weapons were allegedly being routed through Munger, a Bihar town with a long history of illicit arms manufacturing, before planned distribution across multiple states. Among those under investigation is Shahbaz Ansari, a resident of Khurja in Uttar Pradesh and a wanted accused in the NIA’s Sidhu Moosewala arms supply case.
The bust comes days after the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen on April 22, 2025, an incident that has since intensified India’s internal security operations.
The foiled plot is not an isolated case. On April 24, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad detained two 20-year-olds from Noida Tushar Chauhan, also known as Hizbullah Ali Khan, and Samir Khan on charges of operating under direct instructions from Pakistan-based handlers and the ISI. The two were caught with a pistol, live ammunition, and a knife.
The ATS said the pair had been working with Pakistan-based gangsters Shahzad Bhatti and Abid Jatt, using Instagram and other social media platforms to radicalize and recruit Indian youth. Their alleged objectives included establishing sleeper cells, carrying out targeted killings, and conducting reconnaissance of sensitive locations.
